ZincFive awarded the ‘Solar Impulse Efficient Solutions Label’ for its clean, efficient and profitable technology
PORTLAND, Oregon—(May, 2021)— ZincFive, the world leader in nickel-zinc (NiZn) batteries and solutions, today announced that it has been named one of the 1000 solutions labeled by the Solar Impulse Foundation for having one of the top clean, efficient and profitable solutions helping to address climate change.
The Solar Impulse Foundation is on a mission to address sustainability challenges while enabling economic growth. To date, the Solar Impulse Foundation has identified over 1000 clean and profitable solutions awarding them the ‘Solar Impulse Efficient Solutions Label.’
ZincFive was chosen for its safe, reliable, and recyclable nickel-zinc batteries that combine high power density and performance, with significant safety and environmental advantages. The ZincFive solution was categorized under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 for being affordable and low energy; and SDG 12 for its responsible production and consumption methods.
The Label is one of the first of its kind being awarded to ‘positive impact businesses’ who are combining the protection of nature with financial viability, by a pool of independent experts using strict assessment criteria. In collaboration with renowned institutions, Solutions applying to the Label must go through a neutral and certified methodology.
