Tim Hysell, ZincFive CEO

CEO & Co-Founder

For seven years, ZincFive co-founder Tim has expertly guided the creation and deployment of ZincFive’s nickel-zinc rechargeable battery technology. He founded and chaired PSI Acquisitions and Millennium Power Solutions – where the UPStealth® was invented – and ZincFive, which is establishing nickel-zinc as the fifth rechargeable battery to scale across the world.

Tim has over three decades of entrepreneurial success in founding, owning, and directing profitable business operations in renewable energy, banking, manufacturing, and medical devices. His companies partnered with global giants such as Siemens, Phillips, and Hewlett-Packard. He excels at corporate transaction negotiations, fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, IPO preparation, market share growth, and board leadership. Prior to owning his own businesses, Tim worked for General Electric, Hewlett-Packard, and Providence Health Systems.

Tim is co-founder and board member of Pacific West Bank in Oregon and a former youth football, basketball, and baseball coach.

Prior to joining ZincFive, Bruce was co-founder and CFO of Fortune Data Centers, which helped establish the wholesale data center segment in Silicon Valley in 2007. In 2014, the Fortune properties and team were merged with the Dallas Infomart to create Infomart Data Centers, where Bruce served as CFO and coordinated the sale of the company in 2018 to Equinix and IPI Partners for more than $1 billion.

Prior to his time in the data center industry, Bruce held accounting, consulting, and development positions while working for firms including PWC, EY, Deloitte, and Trammell Crow Company.

Bruce received his Bachelor of Arts from U.C. Berkeley and is an inactive Certified Public Accountant. He is an avid golfer who enjoys cooking, collecting wine and spirits, and is an accomplished chocolatier.

Tod was formerly the CEO of PowerGenix, the company that pioneered the novel nickel-zinc (NiZn) battery technology that has become the core of ZincFive’s solution portfolio.

“My passion is to integrate our powerful chemistry into innovative solutions for our customers. We do not believe in trading off safety and sustainability for battery reliability and performance – they are all must-have requirements.” – Tod Higinbotham

Tod has a strong track record of successfully growing advanced materials companies in the energy storage, semiconductor and solar markets. He served as Executive VP/GM for ATMI and led the rapid growth of the company, which was sold for more than $1 billion. He was also an executive member of the leadership team at Advanced Silicon Materials, a world leader in high-purity silicon materials. The business was sold to REC to form their solar materials business.

Tod earned a degree in Finance from Portland State University and an MBA from the Foster School of Business at University of Washington. He is an active public speaker on leadership, safety, and materials trends. He is a Montana native and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities.
